Easily mistaken for dragon lizards, great green land sharks haunt humid woodlands of both tropical and temperate terrains. Despite their great size, great greens are very supple and able to slip through dense woodlands.
Rare among sharks is the great green's chameleon camouflage ability; many are the tales of Adventurers walking right up to a great green land shark without realizing it was there. This camouflage ability includes masking heat as well as color, foiling infrared and ultraviolet vision.
Great greens produce "mermaids' purse"-like egg cases, flattened oblongs with a pair of hooks at each end, as do rays. These are hung up in the branches of the fiercest of carnivorous trees. The sharks guard the trees and the trees guard their eggs.
Great greens have a keener sense of smell than vultures. The scent of bleeding in their territory will attract their attention. As their territories overlap considerably, there is a 50% change of two packs appearing to share the feast; convergences of three packs are not unknown where multiple territories overlap. Such convergences often result in mating as well as feasting.
