Packs of 4-24 Blue Hex-Hams (hexapseudopoidal hammerhead land sharks) prefer wooded areas. Their streamlined form allows them to dart rapidly through the undergrowth despite a length of twenty to thirty foot and to squeeze, ferret-like, through surprisingly narrow openings.
While not truly amphibious, hex-hams do enjoy soaking in streams and pools; there, they are sometimes mistaken for bluish crocodiles.
Hex-hams have a superior bioelectrical sense. They are able to hunt in complete dark, as they can detect the life-presence of the roots and leaves that define the terrain contours of the forests. Curiously, either this sense even extends to detecting the geo-plankton which define rock or these land sharks have true Dark Sight, for troglodytic varieties are able to maneuver in complete darkness. Their keen sense of smells also helps.
The drumming of their six legs is copied in many a tribal war-beat; SEE Sharks Sub-Index: Land Sharks for more information on polypseudopoidal land sharks.
