Stone Sucker Cave / Cliff Shark

These polypsuedopodial land sharks (which SEE) have four to six pairs of stumpy legs, each ending in a broad gecko-like suction-cup tip, ideal for skittering across shear surface. This enables them to run up and down vertical surfaces and even cling to overhangs, such as ceilings of ruins or caverns.

Stone suckers are the land sharks best adapted to subterranean life. They are also found in rocky mountainous areas crawling up and down cliffs and in stony ruins.

When stone suckers of different species meet, unless it is mating season and they are of opposite genders, they often fight to the first blood; the wounded then retreats quickly, before more land sharks, following the scent of fresh spilled blood, arrive for a feeding frenzy. When stone suckers of the same species and same gender meet, they mouth-wrestle, preferably inverted on a ceiling. This establishes dominance without bloodshed. Stone suckers to not mate within their pack, as a pack is generally composed of a group of siblings.

Stone suckers gum their eggs in to ceiling crevasses. There, they are well disguised; few will realize just why they are so determined in guarding a particular chamber, as only and expert's search will discover the hidden eggs.
